Image Blue is proud to offer photography classes conducted by owner/president R.E. Merritt a professional photographer with over 25 years experience and former instructor for Cobb county schools and Marietta city schools. Classes are done in an informal casual learning environment at our studio and on location. Classes are a combination of 6-8 weeks of classroom/studio instruction and one day seminars on special topics. Class size is limited so please register early. A one time registration fee is required for all new students and special equipment may be required for some courses. A model fee may also be required for special classes such as studio lighting. A limited amount of rental camera equipment is also available.Classes are a combination of classroom instruction and hands on shooting or editing in our studio or location.

or discounts at local photo labs to students.
Photo One
An introduction to the joy of photography with a focus on the basics and the mechanics of photography. Students will also learn the basics of digital photography and printing. Students will finish the class with an improved photography skill and be able to take better photos.
Course is 6 weeks long and meets on Thursday night at the Image Blue Studio from 7PM to 8:30 PM. Course also includes one Saturday Field trip.
Students will need a digital SLR style camera which can change lens and use a mounted flash. Extra lens and mounted flash is not necessary but a good idea.

Photo Two
Course is designed for more advanced or serious students who have already completed a photo one course. Students will focus on more advanced lighting and specialized types of photography such as sports, action, and wildlife. Students will finish the course with a better understanding of lens selection, composition, and shooting in difficult lighting.
Course is 6-8 weeks long and will be a combination of classroom and location instruction.
Students will need a digital SLR style camera which can change lens and use a shoe
mounted flash and tripod.

Studio lighting techniques
Course is a one day seminar in the Image Blue Studio and will focus on shooting different types of studio photography, products and people. Students will learn basic studio lighting and find the best type of lighting for them. Course is for students wanting to learn how to control light inside and shoot better pictures with professional lighting.
Students will be able to use their own camera or the studio camera.

Portrait Photography
Students will learn the fine art of portrait photography and complete the class understanding the basics of a classic portrait. Students will be able to shoot quality portraits of people, pets, and children.
